Somewhere in there I started writing code to fix the problems no off-the-shelf tool understood — getting numbers off the machines, tracking what was actually happening on the floor, turning a wall of clipboards into a screen I could trust.
That's where Astris Dynamics comes from. Astris means reaching for the stars — that's the half of me that loves building software, the part that wants to lift shops up and give them tools they didn't think a small operation could afford. But I never left the floor behind. I still think like a fabricator, because I am one.
